Evaluation 

Overall I am pleased with what I achieved in this assignment. I believe my Illustration designs and technical skills have been improved a great deal since my first year on the fashion management course. At the start of the degree course my knowledge in design and conceptualisation classes was very limited, having no basic understanding of drawing skills,Corel draw design or Photoshop techniques. 

The first and second year taught me discipline in areas I needed to be successful. This final year has allowed me to advance and surpass the necessary skills, in all these areas. The experience in this particular project has given me has really helped to improve my illustration, as well as Photoshop skills within a digital art fashion. Bringing all my knowledge to a higher level needed to succeed in the course. I have gained a greater understanding of web design in a Blog, the interactive social style processes taken to achieve my own unique trend designs, which was helped greatly by my research earlier on in the project. Overall the practice has been rewarding and of great advantage to my future in the Fashion Industry.

Final Design Analysis

Rough Drawing of my interpretation of  both designs combining Cassandra Rhodins Facial features with  the  profile of Shelseys Birch's style.

A more detailed sketch of the final design. As hair seems to be the main correlation between the two illustration. I wanted to reflect this in my own interpretation. Having taking an analytical approach  on both illustrators. They both convey beauty and masculinity and  a threat. I there fore added the gun to signify danger. 

Adding in the colour. I wanted to stay with the pastel shades. The clothes are casual and very much an independent woman who doesn't really care what people think  about.

Using the Corel draw outline. I exported the image onto Photoshop where I Painted the image using brush and smudge tool and various drop shadow and motion blur effects. The reason there are two images is because I decided to enhance the eyes with eye lashes and deep shadows. I also painted in some shadows to the face and top of the legs. gain this was done through Photoshop and Corel draw.  Finally, I added a background image called" Gucci" to compliment the overall look and feel of piece.  

Shelsey Birch

A sequence of Shelseys Designs. Alot more of finer detail in comparison to Cassandra Rhodins work. Here I have used a variation of pencil and water colur drawing. Her face is outline alot more difficult to do. Fine lines of the beauty of her illustration spells out innocence and yet this juxapositioned by a masculine, devious side. The Last illustration is the evolution of my own design. Using Photoshop to add a combination of Cassandra Rhodins Facial features on the body of Shelseys outline frame to give a more abstract look

                                                                                                                                                                                                       

                                                                                                                          

Experimenting with the timid frame and big hair makes an extreme and yet effective impression. The last illustration is a combination of  both Cassandra and Shelsey designs. I believe they flatter each other.

An Original Template I was going to use. Using an update fashion photo from a magazine. I added Cassandra Rhodin's facial profile and Shelsey Birch's out line of legs to get an overall look and feel when mixing Illustrators work with Photography.

An Interpretation into Shelsey Birch Illustrations

Where Shelsey's work is characterised by a mixture of concepts of femininity, the warmth of the women, the savoir faire and the halo that surrounds the world of all this woman mixed with masculinity and severity of geometry, danger, weapons and this series of elements linked to the world of men. Hence the use of a sober palette, where the pale colours, black and dark tones prevail in most of the creative illustrations. In this pencil draw I tried to imitate her style and composition with the subdued tones.

                             

I started with a rough sketch of this design. This drawing was done freehand. The hardest part  was getting the eyes right. I love the sweet heart face shape with the dark devious eyes.

Here I decided to change the silhouette of the illustration to a colour interpretation

In this illustration I used a combination of Corel draw anmd Photoshop. 

• Step 1. I traced over Shelseys illustration using the 3 point curve tool in Corel draw. Shaping the lines as went along. 
• Step 2 I exported the image over to Photoshop, where I used various brushes Chalk 23 and the Smudge Tool to create watercolour effect. This was also enhanced by the use of the drop shadows and pattern fill and gradient effects. Its not an exact replica. I found the eyes particularly difficult to do. However I quite pleased with the over all look.
